A LOOK BACK IN TIMEWith the post season about to begin, it's a good time to take a look back at some of the teams that have won MSESL titles. No team dominated the league the way Highway Structures did beginning with their 1986 championship. During a 16-year stretch from 1986-2001 Structures won the league title a total of 12 times including 4 straight on two occasions. You can take a look at a summary of the post season from 2001-2010 by clicking here.
THANKS FOR A GREAT JOB JOSE
If this season is truly Jose Colon's last season as league commissioner, he deserves a great deal of thanks for the work he has put into the league for the past several years. Hopefully Jose can continue to offer his input as well as getting his Bridge Rebels back on track. Motor Pool's Maria Baptista has already volunteered if there is a 2012 season. Hopefully others around the league will offer some help as well in order to make this a better league.
A GREAT RIVALRY TO BE CONTINUED?Once Highway Structures folded, The Motor Pool/Structures battles were replaced by some fierce meetings between Motor Pool and Bridge beginning in 2002 when they met in the post season for the first time. They have met in the post season a total of 6 times including a memorable 2007 meeting in the finals. The Renegades held an early edge, taking three out of the first four meetings but the Rebels have evened the series at 3-3 after defeating Motor Pool in the league's last 2 finals.
PLAYOFFS
TO BE PLAYED AT COMMON
Unfortunately, the permits for the 2011 season were filed late and the league, unlike 2010 was unable to secure many dates for the Common between May and August. However, plenty of dates were made available for September and October allowing for all post season games to be played under the lights of the Common. Those lights should be turned on earlier avoiding delays that have occurred several times in past season's playoffs.
MP and Bridge Tonight at Marine
June 1, 2012...The Motor Pool Renegades and Bridge Rebels will renew hostilities tonight when they face off for the first time since last October's league finals. Motor Pool ended the Rebels two-year championship reign when they swept the Rebels in two straight games to earn their 6th league title. The two teams have met in each of the last three league finals and 7 times overall in the post season with Motor Pool holding a slight 4-3 edge.

The Renegades welcomed the Rats rudely to the MSESL putting this one away early with a 15-2 lead after three. Three Renegades had at least 7 hits in the blowout win.
